Amy Moreira, LMHC is a licensed Mental Health Counselor that specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She is culturally competent, fluent in Portuguese and Spanish languages. She has earned a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology with a 4.0 GPA and Master's thesis on Reactive Attachment Disorder. Her primary therapeutic interests include individuals and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, boundaries, dating challenges, trust/infidelity, communication issues, parenting issues, work/friend/family conflicts, students, athletes, and professionals struggling with stress management, issues with over-achieving and perfectionism, and life transitions using research-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Many have improved their mental health and enjoyed the warmth, humor, and clinical skills that Amy brings to her therapeutic interventions, consultations, and speaking events. Amy has a skilled mental health background in a variety of settings prior to private practice. This includes providing emergency services evaluations, correctional psychiatric evaluations, and immigration evaluations. She has provided individual and group counseling in academic, community, and correctional settings. She has instructed suicide awareness and prevention trainings to correctional staff in Massachusetts. She also has a strong history of volunteerism, in which she received award recognition for providing volunteer individual and group counseling services in an under-served community in Rhode Island. Her experience in a variety of clinical settings allows her to provide thoughtful, tailored support for each individual.
